Ernest Boaten is a Mount Vernon native born in Mount Vernon Hospital and at a young age moved with his family to Yonkers. As a youth he went through the public school system and though he felt he had received the best education available, it was not so. In his junior year of high school he attended a private school in Pennsylvania. The level of education and care taken by teachers at the school opened his eyes to the disparate nature of his district's education. The notion of college had not entered his mind till that yea where college preparation was the main focus from seventh grade onwards.

After graduating from Binghamton University in 2006 with a financial economics degree, Ernest Boaten started Boaten Enterprises LLC. In the fall of 2006 Ernest Boaten started an entertainment business at his college and after a year of success however Boaten yearned to return home to his district. Ernest Boaten joined Morgan Stanley in the fall of 2007 with a successful consultant position within the company. However being back home was not as it once was as a young man. Working families were struggling to make ends meet as everything within the district kept rising as their paychecks remained the same. Crime and poverty seemed to be on the rise more and more. In seeing his beloved district cry out for change he decided to run for assemblyman and become an official Working Families candidate for the New York State 87th Assembly District. He is running for the position of assemblyman in Yonkers and Mount Vernon and is fully aware that the Working Families Party line is considered by a political standpoint a “minor party line” but since when does minor mean we do not count?

Ernest Boaten believes that the Working Families party is the “Real Party for working families”.  He is sick and tired of seeing a cattle line of people or should we call it the Democrat “minority vote” which is used to get politicians elected. 

Now, being new to politics he fully understands that his chances are slim to none in any poll (Gee sounds like someone with the last name OBAMA). Only good comes with change especially “Change that we can believe in”.
